I'll have to get rid of at least 50% of my stuff since I'm moving from an apartment all by myself to an apartment with 2 roommates :P

Oh, and look at that, the verification word happens to be exess :P (misspelled but whatever)Chocolatesahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08493321160124151967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6546468339418636140.post-84090016447205119472010-03-24T10:29:20.160-04:002010-03-24T10:29:20.160-04:00We give a lot to Goodwill Ind., but there is still...We give a lot to Goodwill Ind., but there is still SO much stuff.

I am the same as Anam Cara mentioned...emotionally attached to stuff. I have the most difficult time throwing away items my children made. I cannot keep EVERYTHING their little hands create, but oh..if I don't throw some things away we wouldn't be able to enter the kitchen...amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07418701204573873745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6546468339418636140.post-63912007302355358602010-03-24T03:11:19.260-04:002010-03-24T03:11:19.260-04:00I've been invaded by clutter, too. But I grew up with ...I know I have too much stuff. But I grew up with "use it up, wear it out, make it do, do without" people and as a result, although I don't buy a lot of stuff, a goodly portion of what I do buy is to give away. But I can't just throw away things.

Just Saturday I was looking at a dish shaped like a toucan in my kitchen used to hold a scrubbie. My sister gave it to me for Christmas years ago when we lived in Panama. I don't use it, just look at it. It's cute, but really, I'd be just as happy if it weren't here. But...my sister gave it to me - I feel like I'm throwing her away if I get rid of her gift to me.

I have got to get over this and just chuck things - but then I worry about the landfill, etc.

Yes, easier not to acquire - but what do you do about gifts????? Obviously, I am in trouble.

(On the plus side, I don't have a single thing in our attic that belongs to me - it's stuff that belongs to our last two kids to leave home, that they will take with them when they go.)Anam Carahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03960986859370967282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6546468339418636140.post-33351867546865421142010-03-23T17:13:10.453-04:002010-03-23T17:13:10.453-04:00I'm doing all that - attics, closets, garage -...I'm doing all that - attics, closets, garage - so that I can move house.
