For anyone who may have been wondering about my sudden week-long silence, it's because the whole upstairs of our house, every room, is being painted for the first time in 20 years. Wallpaper coming off, new paint everywhere. And all the furniture has been moved away from all the walls and clustered in the middle of each room. My computer was buried in such a cluster (and covered with a drop-cloth) until half an hour ago.
In an unrelated development, my computer is showing signs of illness and needs a doctor rather badly, so I may be off-line a while longer, don't know. Will try to post a couple of things that have been on my mind before I take it to the PC doc...

welcome back! may your computer last until it can be fixed! :) sounds like a bit reno. job in your house! ah lent, you bring so many things!
Oh my ! - to both the decorating and the computer woes !
Will it be done for Pascha? I hope your computer stays healthy, they are such a nuisance when they go wrong.
Nothing like fresh paint to make you feel like you have a new house. Congrats! (Hope the computer isn't dead...)
Best wishes on your computer; few things try my patience quite like computer ills...
Neat! What color are you painting upstairs?
Oh, Emily. we are such boring people! We can't think what color we want our rooms, so they're mostly a (gorgeous!) off-white, with the teensiest hint of pastel orange.
The only exceptions are that one room is going to be in a pale gold. And the master bathroom and bedroom each have an accent wall in lavender, because I already know my color scheme there is going to be lavender and yellow.
S-P, it feels like a new house in more than one way: we're also having to move in all over again, at least as far as the upstairs is concerned! All the closets are included in this new paint-job, so every one of them has been emptied.
It could be worse. At least I have gone through the closets every year or so and weeded out some things and organized stuff.
