Lateral Thinking Test

This morning in church, in front of us, were three girls. Their mother, their one and only, actual, biological mother, was on one side of them and their father, their one and only, actual, biological father, was on the other side of them.

They do not look alike. They have different heights, complexions, and hair texture. They were all born at the same time, or at least within moments of each other, to be technical.

They are not triplets.

Why not?

(Tisho, unfair for you to comment here! We all remember your similar experience with Todd. Ditto Tisho's near relatives -- shhh!)

Hmmm... born at the same time of day? :) No idea.

Same time, same day, same mother, same father, not triplets.

I'll post the answer later today.

I am assuming that your use of the word "biological" means that they are not adopted?

I think I know the answer.... :)

They are not adopted. They are all members of the same family into which they were born.

If you think you know the answer, you almost certainly do (unless there's some second answer I can't think of). I should've known YOU would guess. :-)

Do tell!

The girls have a brother born at the same time as they. They are quadruplets rather than triplets. (The boy wasn't in church yesterday.)
