A satirical article, hat tip to Fr. Hollywood (Pr. Beane).

I was baptized into the Episcopal church originally - at the National Cathedral, as a matter of fact. Now that I look at it now...I'm rather thankful I got out when I could.

Hey, you've been around, haven't you? Me, too. I was confirmed Episcopalian a couple of days after my 12th birthday. And I'm also I got out while the getting was (relatively) good. Not that this is why I became Orthodox. Oh, no, there was the New Age stage in between...from which I am even MORE grateful to have been delivered.

Well I was just baptized Episcopal - I couldn't tell you the church's doctrines or exact history. The only services my parents ever took me to were Catholic masses (and Charismatic churches once or twice - ooooooh boy). I only ever attended one Episcopal service, and unfortunately it was my grandfather's funeral.

For a brief moment, when I thought of linking myself deeper with the Episcopal church, I used to want a shirt that said, "The Episcopal Church: We're not Catholic...We're not Protestant...We're just right!"

LOL! Yeah... I became Episcopalian thinking I was joining Clive, Dorothy Day etc. Little did I know. We left for Orthodoxy after 6 years when our bishop sent a letter to all members of the diocese that his "calling" as a bishop was to find and ordain women and homosexuals. That was 10 years ago this summer.
